Purely nursing procedures? Wow, he trippin. Theres lots of MA’s that take blood and give shots, atleast here on the eastcoast. Damn he trippin.
Yeah I’m in a two year associate degree program and we also draw blood, give shots, do EKGs, C & S, all kinds of stuff.
We Draw blood and give shots!!!! And sit for 3 certifications not just 1
we helped out with minor surgeries like cutting a huge mole off this lady back..ugh we filed, checked insurance verification and I do IV’s and we never had a LPN or an RN
we wrote out and called in perscriptions the doctor’s just signed them..we drew blood and gave injections..we measured our own medicines for the injections…we did ekg’s breathing treatment
I worked in a doctor’s office were there were no nurse just the Doctor and the Medical assistant and we did EVERYTHING sometimes gave the doctore our diagnosis lol
i graduated from everest and we draw blood give injeactions and much more and i paid 14grand for school
It depends on the facility that you work at. My instructor for my medical assistant training has worked at hospitals where all they let her do was take blood pressure and health histories, and she has worked at others where they wanted her to do phlebotomy, give IVs, give injections, and almost everything an RN would do. It depends on the law of your state that dictates what MA’s do, but it is really up to the facility that you work at.
well thats what i was told and i asked straight out..i was surprised to hear it myself…medical asst dont draw blood or give injections, thats a nurse job
