At 17 years of age, Jennifer Rye not only graduated from high school, she also earned six certifications in the health care field at Central Technology Center in Drumright. With plans to become a Registered Nurse, she is already a Certified Nursing Assistant at Cushing Regional Hospital.
im 16 and im a CNA. i work at a nursing home.
That’s really good that you loved being a PCT and that you also love nursing school. All i hear from everyone else that work as CNA’s or nurses talk about how much they hate the job. If they hate it so much, i don’t know why they stick with it.
LISTEN CAREFULLY! The video NEVER said she was a nurse. They clearly said she was a certified nursing assistant.
And the anyone can be a CNA? Go take the State exam and see if you can?
See if you can stand the job for one day at a nursing home.
shes not a nurse shes a nursing assistant
why wont this video let me reply to other fucking comments its so annoying?
Shes not nurse, shes a “nurses assistant” She helps the nurse with their duties, and take care of patients, but shes not a real nurse. Anyone can be a cna, you can be 17 to do this.
Shes a nurses assistant, not a nurse, Anyone can be a nursing assistant, you have to be atleast 17.Shes helping the “real” nurse with their duties
shes not a nurse shes a “nurses assistant”, not a real nurse, you’re helping the nurse with their duties anyone can become a nursing assistant, you have to be atleast 17 to be one.
I became a PCT at 19 and now I’m in Nursing School. I love every minute of it.
AWESOME!! I did the same thing in hs! excellent opprotunity to do if you can. I was a cna@17 now Im 21 almost done with the nursing program. CNA jobs can be stressful but it opens doors and your always in need!!
you can be a cna at 17 if you want. But an Rn, I’m sure you have to hae a degree in and way over 17. Nursing assitances just takes care of the patient, give them bed baths, Feed them. I’m going to be doing that soon. I need that second job. And I love to help people
at 17, you can be a nursing assistance. But as far as being a “real nurse” such as RN. I’m preety sure you have a degree and way over 17. all nursing assitance do is just care for the patient, feed them. maybe when you turn 17, you can be a nursing assitance.
you can be a certified nursing assistance at 17.
the minimum age to be a NURSING ASSISTANCE, is 17. she a nursing assitance. Its a job, you can do full time or partime. I’m older than her, And I’m getting ready to be a nursing assitance. You can be a cna at 17. I think 15 is too young though and there are 15 year olds doing it. Really, the minimum age should be 18, to do those things. Because thats the legal age. But You can’t be a real nurse(such as an RN) until you get a degree in it, I think You have to be way over 18 to be an Rn.,
I have no idea how she’s already a nurse at 17. That is so cool! I’m 16 and i’m starting my senior year this fall and I am hoping I can take college courses after-school or online [pre-nursing] at a community college so then I can just transfer to a 4 year school. I wish there’s a way I can acomplish this faster because I cannot wait to become a nurse and help other people that need my help!
Can’t Wait!!!!
Can someone please post up a video on the training of Dialysis Technicians.
CRNA’s do not go to school for 8 years
A year after I graduated HS, they started making students aware that you should go into health in order to make money. High schools put in nursing programs. None of that stuff was around when I graduated. Today’s youth has a bit of an unfair advantage in the job market. For this girl, she has more than CNA. Someone, maybe her parents, determined her fate into these various certifications. I don’t find it “normal” that she succeeded this well. Something unusual about this. spoonfeeding fatalism?
You are a idiot. A CRNA, certified registered nurse anesthetist preforms anesthesia not a CNA. and trust me the crna’s go to school for 8 years just like MD would. I am one and trust me they dont pay me $230,000 for nothing.
Yes CNA and PCT jobs can be stressful meaning you will have some very stressful moments but the stress does not last the whole 8 hours. You will need a lot of patience, compassion, and some type of mental tricks to keep you calm during the stressful moments. The stress mainly comes from the lack of teamwork and racing against the clock. 50% of the job is in not being late and not calling off (reliability). Its best if you can work 12hr. shifts which gives u more time off so u wont burn out.
Do you want an MD or a NURSE to administer your anesthesia? Seriously. Think about it.
yes
im 17 too im also in a similar program but im going to be a licensed practical nurse… why dont you go for that instead??? they get paid better
but the program can probably only be taken in senior year and will probably last 7 more months after graduating since you need a HS diploma
yeah
o yeah well imma be a licensed practical nurse and will get paid more
at 18 so eat that
…. 18 is the youngest since you have to have graduated school …but the program can be joined in high school senior year
